American to United Kingdom Visa Free (180 days)

You must have a valid U.S. passport. The passport must be valid for the duration of your stay in the UK.

All U.S. citizens must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before traveling to the UK. The ETA is applied for online and linked to your passport. It is valid for two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

A digital passport photo that meets UK government requirements must be uploaded during the ETA application.

You will need an active email address to receive your ETA approval and updates.

Payment for the ETA application fee must be made with a debit or credit card.

While not required for the ETA, you may be asked about your purpose of visit upon entry to the UK.
