Libyan to United States Visa Required

Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States. Passport must have at least two clear visa pages available.

Complete Form DS-160 online and bring the confirmation page to your visa interview appointment.

One recent passport-size color photograph (2x2 inches) with white background. Photo will be uploaded during Form DS-160 completion. If upload fails, bring printed photo to interview.

Non-refundable visa application fee of $160 USD must be paid before your interview. Obtain payment receipt as proof of payment.

Documentation establishing your purpose as tourism. May include travel itinerary, hotel confirmations, tour bookings, or other relevant tourism-related documents.

Documentation demonstrating your intent to depart the United States after your trip. May include return flight tickets, employment letters showing you must return to work, or family ties in Libya.

Evidence of your ability to pay all costs of your trip. Bank statements, employment letters showing income, or sponsorship documentation from another person covering trip costs may be provided.

Fingerprints and photograph will be collected at your visa interview appointment as part of biometric data requirements.

As of September 6, 2025, nonimmigrant visas for Libyan nationals should be processed at the U.S. Embassy in Tunis, Tunisia. Alternatively, you may apply in another country where you reside that has ongoing U.S. visa operations.

Letter from your employer demonstrating your employment status and ties to Libya. Helps establish your purpose of visit and intent to return. Optional but recommended.
