Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of intended entry to South Africa with at least 2 blank pages.

A clear explanation that the visit is for tourism purposes.

Return or onward ticket showing entry and exit from South Africa within 90 days.

Proof of accommodation bookings for the duration of stay.

Travel insurance covering medical expenses is recommended but not mandatory for visa-free tourist entry.
