Required Documents & Information

• Valid passport with 6+ months validity

  A valid and current passport or travel document with at least 6 months remaining validity from the application date. If not available, other identity evidence may be accepted for stateless applicants.

• Completed application form

  The designated UK Home Office statelessness application form must be completed in full and submitted via the official application portal.

• Proof of statelessness

  Documentary evidence showing the applicant is not considered a national under the law of any country, including but not limited to official letters from authorities, birth certificates, or other proof of lack of citizenship.

• Proof of previous attempts to obtain nationality/citizenship

  Evidence that the applicant has made a genuine effort to obtain nationality from any country to which they may be entitled, such as correspondence with consulates, embassy responses, or application rejections.

• Police clearance certificate

  A criminal record check or police clearance certificate from each country where the applicant has lived for 12 months or longer in the past 10 years (if available).

• Medical examination by approved physician

  A completed medical examination report from a UK Home Office–approved physician to confirm the applicant does not have any communicable diseases that pose a public health risk.

• Biometric information submission

  Fingerprints and a digital photograph must be provided at a UK biometric enrolment center as part of the application process.
