Valid passport with 6+ months validity
You must provide a copy of a current valid passport for yourself and each accompanying family member.
Bachelor's degree or higher
You must provide proof of completed post-secondary education at the bachelor's, master's, or doctoral level. Foreign credentials require an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from a designated organization.
1 year of skilled work experience
You must demonstrate at least one year of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) paid work experience in a skilled occupation (NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3) within the past 10 years.
IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent
Submit recent results from an approved English (IELTS General, CELPIP) or French (TEF Canada, TCF Canada) test. Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 required in all four abilities.
Proof of funds: $13,500 USD
Show official bank statements or financial certificates proving you have sufficient funds to support yourself and family members, unless you have a valid job offer in Canada.
Police clearance certificate
Obtain police certificates from each country or territory where you have lived for 6 months or more since age 18.
Medical examination by approved physician
You and your accompanying family members must undergo a medical exam by a physician approved by Canadian immigration authorities.
Age between 18 and 46
Points are awarded based on your age at the time your application is submitted. Maximum points (12) awarded to applicants aged 18-35; points decrease incrementally until age 46.
Valid job offer from employer (optional)
An arranged employment offer in Canada must be supported by a positive LMIA or be exempt as per Canadian rules. Provides additional points but is not mandatory.
Spouse/partner adaptability factors (optional)
Additional points can be claimed if your accompanying spouse or partner meets certain education, language, or work experience requirements.
