Required Documents & Information

• Valid passport with 6+ months validity

  Main applicant and family members must present a valid passport with at least six months validity from the date of application.

• Letter of support from a designated organization

  Applicants must secure a letter of support from a designated venture capital fund (investment of at least 200,000 CAD), or angel investor group (investment of at least 75,000 CAD), or acceptance into a designated business incubator (no minimum investment requirement).

• Incorporation documents for Canadian business

  Business must be incorporated in Canada, with the applicant holding at least 10% of voting rights; applicant(s) and supporting organization together must hold more than 50% voting rights in the business.

• Comprehensive business plan

  A detailed and viable business plan demonstrating innovation and scalability may be required to obtain the support of a designated organization.

• IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent

  Applicant must show ability in English or French at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5 in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Accepted tests: IELTS General, CELPIP, TEF Canada, TCF Canada.

• Proof of funds: $14,690 USD or more

  Applicant must provide proof of unencumbered funds sufficient to settle in Canada. Amount varies by family size (e.g., $14,690 USD for a single applicant; more for families). Must be in applicant’s name and available at the time of application.

• Medical examination by approved physician

  All applicants and family members must undergo a medical exam by a designated panel physician.

• Police clearance certificate

  Applicants and adult family members must submit police certificates from each country or territory where they have lived for six or more months since age 18.
