The Forest Adventure Centre in Kereita Forest, near Limuru, sells seven activities you can book one at a time: a two-line zipline tour (KES 2,100), an hour of paintball (KES 2,100 adult, KES 1,900 child), archery (KES 1,450, child KES 1,350), a 30-minute horse ride (KES 2,100, child KES 1,500), two hours of mountain biking (KES 1,200, child KES 1,000), footgolf (KES 1,000, child KES 800, minimum two players) and a guided nature walk (KES 400, child KES 200). It opens Thursday to Sunday and on public holidays, the first session starts at 9:00 and the last at 16:00, and it takes M-Pesa or card only. Below: what each activity includes, the height, weight and age limits, and how to fit three or four of them into one day.
The Forest opens Thursday to Sunday and on public holidays
The centre is in Kereita Forest at Kimende, in Lari sub-county of Kiambu County. Its own rates card puts it about an hour from ABC in Nairobi, traffic permitting, near Limuru. Sessions start at 9:00, the last session begins at 16:00 and every activity ends by 17:00. Booking is essential: the centre does not run as a walk-in, and each listing below asks you to arrive 15 to 30 minutes before your confirmed time. Picnics are not allowed on site, so plan to eat at the restaurant or before you arrive. Kereita sits at about 2,500 m, so it can be cold, misty or wet when Nairobi is warm; bring a rainproof layer, trousers rather than skirts, closed shoes and sun cream.
On the rates card a child is anyone aged 12 or under. The children's prices in this guide are that category.
The zipline is the headline: 750 m on two lines for KES 2,100
The Kereita Forest Flying Fox Zip Tour is the public two-line option, about 750 m of cable in roughly 45 minutes including the harness fitting and briefing. Harness, helmet and the safety checks are included; the activity team runs each platform. You need to be at least 1.4 m tall and no heavier than 115 kg, and you ride in trousers and secure closed shoes, with nothing loose in your pockets. The venue's full tour is six lines and 2.2 km over about two hours, with the longest single line at 425 m, and the rates card prices it at KES 3,250 (KES 2,750 for a child); ask us for that one when you book. Poor weather can delay or change a session. The Flying Fox listing is the same price for adults and children.
Kereita Forest Flying Fox Zip Tour
Clip in, step off and glide above the Kereita Forest canopy on an exhilarating two-line Flying Fox tour. The route covers approximately 750 metres and takes about 45 minutes including setup and briefing. The activity team handles the harness, helmet and safety checks so you can focus on the views, the speed and that first brave step into open air.

Paintball: one hour and 100 paintballs each for KES 2,100
The Kereita Forest Paintball Challenge is a marshalled one-hour session with 100 paintballs per player, marker, mask and the venue's protective gear, played as a series of team games in the arena. Extra paintballs are KES 500 per 50. Arrive 30 minutes early for registration and equipment fitting, in closed shoes and clothes that cover your arms and legs and can take paint. Children can play, but the age and equipment-fit rules change, so send ages before you pay. Light rain does not usually stop play; the venue can delay or cancel when the arena is unsafe. It is the right pick for a group that wants to compete, and the wrong one for anybody who does not want to be hit.
Kereita Forest Paintball Challenge
Pull on your mask, split into teams and turn Kereita's fresh forest air into one fast hour of tactics, cover and laughter. With 100 paintballs each, a clear safety briefing and a marshal keeping the games moving, it is an easy win for friends, families or teams ready for friendly competition.

Archery at Kereita Forest is a coached hour on the range with recurve bows: a safety and technique briefing, then single-shot precision, quicker rounds and target games under instructor control. Bow, arrows and range equipment are included, and first-timers are expected. Avoid loose sleeves or accessories near the bowstring and arrive 15 minutes before your slot. Whether a child can join depends on handling the bow safely, so ask us before booking for anyone young. It is the one activity here that works for a mixed group where some people want nothing fast or high.

View experienceNature walks, footgolf and tree planting are the cheap add-ons
The Guided Kereita Forest Nature Walk is an easy hour with a local guide through bamboo and indigenous forest, with a stop at a cave, waterfall or viewpoint when conditions allow. The guide chooses the safest route on the day, so no particular landmark is promised. It is KES 400 (KES 200 for a child), a second hour is KES 200 more, and the rates card lists a two-hour guided walk at KES 600 and self-guided walking as free. Check in 20 minutes early in closed shoes with grip. Wildlife sightings are a bonus, not the point.

The Footgolf Challenge is about an hour kicking a football round a course of up to 10 holes with oversized cups: KES 1,000 per person (KES 800 child), minimum two players, with the rates card capping a game at eight. Children can play with a responsible adult. Tree planting is KES 250 per indigenous tree on the rates card, and makes a decent five-minute finish for a family day.
Pay by M-Pesa or card, and treat tickets as final
The rates card is explicit: all activities are paid in full and ticketed before you start, tickets are non-refundable once issued, and the centre handles no cash on site and has no M-Pesa agent, so load your M-Pesa or bring a card. Activities can be affected by adverse weather, and the card asks for a reasonable standard of fitness. None of the listings include transport or meals.
How to plan the day
Book a 9:00 start and stack the timed sessions: the two-line zipline (45 minutes) and an hour of archery or paintball before lunch, then the nature walk or a 30-minute ride after. Two hours of biking plus the zipline also fits a morning. Children 12 and under pay less on everything except the zipline, and the 1.4 m height rule is the main thing that rules a younger child out of the zip; for the zipline, paintball and horses, share ages and sizes when you book. If you are bringing a work group, the centre's facilitator-led team day is a separate booking for ten or more, built from a pre-session questionnaire; we cover it with other venues in End-of-Year Staff Party Ideas in Nairobi.
